What Are Tonsiliths?
Tonsiliths is a misspelling of the word tonsilloliths. This occurs commonly on the internet as people make mistakes while
typing too fast or because they generally do not know how to spell a word correctly.
While we are on the subject of tonsilloliths, very few people know that one of the main causes of
stones forming at the back of the throat or on the tonsils is due to being lactose intollerant. This means that your
body can not properly digest dairy products, which causes excess mucus running down the back of the throat.
The mucus along with bacteria and bits of leftover food combine and through a process of
calcification forms tonsilloliths or tonsil stones, which if you are brave enough to break open, will have you
gagging for fresh air.
Although these stones are generally quite small and often look like white spots on your tonsils,
some giants have also been removed.
Here is the kit I used to rid myself of tonsiliths
If you are brave enough you can remove your stones by using a cotton bud or q-tip to remove the
tonsiliths. If this sounds too painfull, you can also use an oral irrigator. Be careful and use the device on the
lowest setting as high pressure could hurt the tonsils and cause unwanted pain.
You can also have a tonsillectomy but that should absolutely be a
last resort, as you can successfully cure the condition without painful surgery.
Up to 75% of people that suffer from halitosis or bad breath also have tonsiliths(tonsil
stones)
